The Starboard Rio is the ideal windsurf board for families, beginners and surf schools. The board goes super easy and requires no experience, the Rio also has a large volume which ensures a stable platform.

The ideal board for making progress. Learn the basics in a playful way, from sailing back and forth to using the foot straps. The RIO series is available in three different constructions, namely: Rhino, Rhino No Pad and Starlite. This board comes in the Rhino construction and is therefore super sturdy and durable. The only drawback is the weight, compared to the Starlite construction, this board is on average two kilos heavier. A super fun, educational and playful board!

When in doubt between the Starboard Start and Rio, it is good to remember that the RIO is slightly less stable, but gets planing faster, so more focused on growth. The START is more suitable when you are looking for a super stable board and don’t require much performance.
