This mast is 95cm long and therefore falls under the relatively long masts. Longer masts are generally more difficult to navigate than a short mast, for this reason that with a long mast the center of gravity is higher away from the water, making balancing more difficult. A longer mast makes it easier to sail in choppy conditions. This carbon mast is built with 40 layers of pre-preg carbon, hydraulically pressed, heated and fused into one monolithic mast of incredible rigidity. The shape of the mast is also optimized for bending and torsional rigidity. In various tests, this mast is 52% stiffer than a traditional mast because of its shape alone.
