The RDM adapter is a tool that you put in your boom clamp before you put the boom around your mast. Now your SDM boom head also fits on RDM masts. The difference between RDM (Reduced Diameter Mast) and SDM (Standard Diameter Mast) is that the RDM thin masts are SDM thicker. With this you can sometimes have problems with which boom to use. With the RDM adapter this is a thing of the past.
